Mike Perry Returns At UFC 245, Meets Geoff Neal

'Platinum' Mike Perry will make his Octagon return this December at UFC 245, as he meets fellow welterweight striker Geoff Neal, adding to an already impressive final pay-per-view event of the year for the organization.

The charismatic Perry has gone through a rough patch of form as of recent times, dropping three losses in his last four matchups. Last time out, the Michigan native found himself on the wrong end of a razor-thin decision to surging 170-pound challenger Vicente Luque, after out-pointing Brazilian all-rounder Alex 'Cowboy' Oliveira in April. Texan kickboxer Neal, has so far made a promising start to his stint under the UFC banner, maintaining his undefeated run against Niko Price in his last Octagon walk. Arriving from Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender's Series in 2017, 'Handz of Steel' Neal has managed wins over Brian Camozzi, Frank Camacho and Belal Muhammed.

Rumblings originally suggested Perry would step in on short notice to meet former division best Robbie Lawler, after original opponent Santiago Ponzinibbio was forced from the December 14th. card due to a staph infection. Lawler will remain on the card despite the failed pairing, with Perry and Neal instead booked in an equally exciting clash of two of the most entertaining strikers at welterweight today.

UFC 245 takes place from the T-Mobile Arena on December 14th. with a bad blooded welterweight title clash between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington sealed as the main event. In our co-headliner, a 145-pound championship meeting between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski also features. A bantamweight title tilt rematch between Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie is also set to place as the two striking talents round off a triple threat of title fights.

Welterweight veteran Matt 'The Immortal' Brown ends a two-year hiatus from the Octagon in December, as he meets wily grappler Ben Saunders, and Jessica Eye looks to return to winning ways after her shocking championship head kick knockout loss to Valentina Shevchenko, as she meets the talented finisher, Viviane 'Vivi' Araújo. Former welterweight champion and the still dangerous puncher Robbie Lawler makes a quick turnaround at the event, as he searches for an opponent replacement after originally penned opponent Santiago Ponzinibbio was forced from the matchup due to a staph infection.

A meeting of the surging Irene Aldana and title hopeful Ketlen Vieira has also been finalized for the stacked event. A high stakes flyweight pairing has also been confirmed for the card, as Brandon Moreno replaces Sergio Pettis, who has recently sealed a move to Bellator MMA, and takes on the up and coming Kai Kara-France. Bantamweight title-chasers Petr Yan and former WEC featherweight champion Urijah 'The California Kid' Faber also throw down on the promotion's final pay-per-view event of the year. One-time bantamweight title challenger Marlon Moraes will also feature on the card, as he welcomes former featherweight best José Aldo to 135-pounds in an all Brazilian striking showcase.
