Darren Elkins, Nate Landwehr expected to meet at UFC event on May 16th.

A featherweight pairing between longtime contender, Darren 'The Damage' Elkins, and recent Octagon signee, Nate 'The Train' Landwehr is expected to feature at a UFC Fight Night event on May 16th. in the VyStar Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
Veteran challenger, Elkins, has dropped defeats in each of his last three outings, while former M-1 Global featherweight champion, Landwehr, lost his first Octagon appearance in a January knockout falter against Herbert Burn. News of the targeted matchup was initially reported by MMA Junkie reporter, Nolan King.
Indiana native, Elkins, seen his incredible run of six straight victories at featherweight, snapped by current division champion, Alexander Volkanovski, back in July of 2018. Losses against former title challenger, Ricardo Lamas, and wily grappler, Ryan Hall soon followed, as Elkins suffered three consecutive losses for the first time in his career. Among his staggering run of victories between 2015 and 2018 - Elkins notched wins over the likes of Michael Johnson, Dennis Bermudez, Godofredo Pepey, Chas Skelly, and a memorable rallying performance to finish Mirsad Bektić back at UFC 209.
Tennesse born striker, Landwehr, had an eye-catching run as M-1 Global's 145-pound champion, up until the call came to join the featherweight roster of the UFC. In July of 2018, Landwehr claimed champion status against Khamzat Dalgiev, finishing with a late second-round knockout. The 31-year-old would go on to secure two more wins under the M-1 Global banner, defending the title against both Andrey Lezhnev, and Viktor Kolesnik. His January defeat to Burns came as just the second loss of his eight-year professional career. From thirteen triumphs, Landwehr has managed eight knockouts.
The UFC Fight Night event is expected to take place on May 16th. from the VyStar Arena in Jacksonville, Florida - with a heavyweight rebooking between decorated kickboxer, Alistair Overeem and heavy-hitting finisher, Walt Harris taking main event status. In a featherweight matchup, former 155-pound contender, Edson Barboza will make his division debut, as he tackles surging prospect, Dan 'Dynamite' Ige. In a bantamweight bout, prospects, Song Yadong, and Marlon Vera are expected to clash. 185-pound contenders, Eryk Anders, and Krzysztof Jotko are slated to battle. Anthony Hernandez and Kevin Holland are also expected to feature, while Jared Gordan and Sean Woodson are penned to throw-down.
