Ray Borg vs. Ricky Simón targeted for UFC event on May 13th.

A clash of bantamweight prospects has been added to a UFC Fight Night event on May 13th. in Jacksonville, Florida - as former flyweight title chaser, Ray 'The Tazmexican Devil' Borg, takes on Ricky Simón. Arizona native, Borg puts his two-fight win streak on the line, as Simón looks to prevent dropping his third consecutive outing. News of the expected pairing was initially reported by The Sports Daily reporter, Jeff Fox.

26-year-old contender, Borg, has managed two consecutive victories over Gabriel Silva and Raoni Barcelos, following losses to Casey Kennedy, and former flyweight kingpin, Demetrious Johnson. Borg rose to contender status back in 2017, as she lodged two wins over Jussier Formiga and Louis Smolka. The Jackson-Wink MMA trainee was forced back to the flyweight division in his most recent Octagon walk against Barcelos back in February at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho. The Tuscon-born submission-specialist missed weight for the contest, tipping the scales at 128-pounds - the fourth occasion he had missed weight in his professional career.

Washington born all-rounder, Simón, has run into a tough run of form over the course of the previous year. The 27-year-old welcomed former WEC featherweight champion, Urijah Faber back to the Octagon after a brief retirement - dropping an opening-round knockout. In a bout which earned Fight of the Night honours, Borg lost a unanimous decision to fellow prospect, Rob Font. The former LFA and Titan FC bantamweight gold holder has managed eye-catching triumphs over the likes of Chico Camus, Merab Dvalishvili, Montel Jackson, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu standout, Rani Yahya since his professional debut back in 2014.

The UFC Fight Night event is expected to take place on May 13th. in the VyStar Arena in Jacksonville, Florida - with a light-heavyweight clash between former title challengers, Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira serving as the event headliner. Former interim light heavyweight title chaser, Ovince Saint Preux is expected to make his heavyweight division debut, as he tackles long time stalwart, Ben Rothwell at the event.
