Curtis Blaydes vs. Alexander Volkov headlines UFC Saskatoon in June

A potential UFC heavyweight title-eliminator between surging challenger, Curtis 'Razor' Blaydes, and recent returner, Alexander 'Drago' Volkov is expected to headline UFC Fight Night Saskatoon in Canada, on June 20th. News of the matchup was initially reported by Moscow based outlet, Sports.ru.
Team Elevation trainee, Blaydes - has returned with a vengeance, managing three straight-wins since his rematch loss to Francis Ngannou in 2018. The Juco national champion has taken a unanimous decision win over Justin Willis, finished Shamil Abdurakhimov with ground-and-pound, before handing former champion, Junior dos Santos a knockout loss. Blaydes, 29, has picked up eight victories since his 2016 debut with the promotion - securing the #3 rank at heavyweight.
Former Bellator heavyweight champion, Volkov, returned to the win column in a short-notice shutout against Greg Hardy, in Moscow last November. The Russian dropped his sole Octagon loss to Derrick Lewis at UFC 229 - having lodged four prior wins. The 31-year-old managed a career-highlight win over the decorated Fabrício Werdum back at UFC London in March of 2018. Volkov currently sits at the #7 rank at heavyweight - having joined the promotion's ranks back in 2016.
UFC Fight Night Saskatoon takes place on June 20th. from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Canada.
