With his scheduled co-main event tomorrow night at UFC Fight Island 6 opposite promotional newcomer Ante Dulija scrapped - French upstart, Ciryl 'Bon Gamin' is reportedly in line for an even more high-profile pairing, opposite former heavyweight champion, Junior 'Cigano' dos Santos.

The streaking grappler and striker was slated to take co-headlining status against former KSW feature, Delija at tomorrow's 'Fight Night' event - with a contractual dispute resulting in the Croat's removal from the pairing. Gane was unable to secure a new opponent on short-notice - resulting in his removal to boot.

Speaking with media this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's showcase, promotional president, Dana White told French outlet, Le Sueur, that the organization were attempting to nail down an eye-catching bout between Gane and veteran Brazilian striker, dos Santos.

"We're working on him (Gane) and JDS (Junior dos Santos)," White explained.

Riding a six-fight unbeaten run since his transition to mixed martial arts from Muay Thai back in August of 2018 - Gane has scored a 3-0 record under the promotion's banner since his debut back in August of last year in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Debuting with an arm-triangle win over Raphael Pessoa, the 30-year-old La Roche-sur-Yon native managed a late heel-hook win over Don'Tale Mayes, prior to a unanimous decision win over fellow division upstart, Tanner Boser at UFC Fight Night Busan in December.

Dropping three-consecutive knockouts recently, fan-favourite Santa Catarina-born boxer, dos Santos suffered losses to one-time title challenger, Francis Ngannou, as well as contenders, Curtis Blaydes, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Prior to his knockout defeat to Ngannou, the American Top Team trainee had amassed a notable three-fight rise against Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, and Blagoy Ivanov.
