Report: Petr Yan vs. Aljamain Sterling Set For UFC 256 on December 12th.

A long-awaited bantamweight title clash between reigning gold holder, Petr 'No Mercy' Yan and perennial contender, Aljamain 'Funk Master' Sterling is slated for the co-main event of UFC 256 on December 12th. - from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Promotional perfect titleholder, Yan looks to score his first successful title defence following a vacant title victory over former featherweight best, José Aldo at UFC 251 on 'Fight Island' in Abu Dhabi, UAE in July.
For Sterling, the Serra-Longo MMA mainstay attempts to score championship gold at the first time of asking, following his eye-catching rear-naked choke win over recent big-winner, Cory Sandhagen at UFC 250 in June in the opening round. News of the eye-catching 135-pound title matchup was first reported by Yahoo! Sports reporter, Kevin Iole.
27-year-old Dudinka native, Yan has won his last staggering ten fights consecutively. The gold holder scored an eventual fifth frame win over Aldo earlier this year, following notable victories over former WEC featherweight best, Urijah Faber, perennial contender, Jimmie Rivera, and former two-time flyweight title chaser, John Dodson.
31-year-old New York-born finisher, Sterling has himself amassed quite the impressive winning record - notching five on the trot. Prior to his win over fellow contender, Sandhagen - the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt had secured victories over recent Bellator MMA singing, Brett Johns, Cody Stamann, common-foe, Rivera, and a unanimous decision win over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 238 in June of last year.
The bantamweight title matchup between Yan and Sterling will take co-headlining honours at UFC 256 on December 12th. - with a slated featherweight title matchup of Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson taking main event status.
