Report: Marlon Moraes vs. Rob Font Added to UFC Vegas 17 on December 19th.

A bantamweight matchup between recent UFC Fight Island feature, one-time division title challenger, 'Magic' Marlon Moraes, and streaking contender, Rob Font has been booked for UFC Vegas 17 on December 19th. - from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nova Friburgo native, Moraes looks to rebound to the win column following a second-round wheel-kick knockout loss to contender, Cory Sandhagen in the main event of UFC Fight Island 5 on October 11th. 

For Massachusetts native, Font - he's scored two consecutive wins, most recently taking a unanimous decision win over Ricky Simón at UFC Fight Night D.C. in December of last year. News of the eye-catching 135-pound pairing was initially reported by reporter, Mike Russell.

Dropping knockout losses in two of his last three outings, Moraes narrowly returned to winning ways at UFC 245 in December - taking a close split decision win over compatriot, recent vacant title challenger, José Aldo. Before the win, Moraes had dropped a third-round knockout loss to former two-weight world champion, Henry Cejudo in another vacant championship clash at UFC 238 in June of last year.

A well-rounded striker and submission threat, Moraes, a former WSOF bantamweight champion has scored notable Octagon triumphs over the likes of John Dodson, Aljamain Sterling, Jimmie Rivera, and fellow countryman, Raphael Assunção.

Font, a former CES featherweight champion - has featured ten times under the UFC's banner since his transition to the organization back in July of 2014. 

The 33-year-old added the above-noted, Simón to a respectable winning résumé which includes current Bellator bantamweight contender, Sergio Pettis, Thomas Almeida, Douglas Silva de Andrade, Matt Schnell, and George Roop. In his three promotional blemishes, Font has come unstuck against Brazilina trio, common-foe, Assunção, Pedro Munhoz, and John Lineker.
