Anderson Silva returns against Derek Brunson at UFC 208:

Former UFC Middleweight champ Anderson 'The Spider' Silva will return to the UFC octagon at UFC 208, against fellow contender Derek Brunson. Silva last featured on the UFC 200 card, as a short notice replacement for Jon Jones against Daniel Cormier, where he was out wrestled by the AKA Light Heavyweight champion holder, while Derek Brunson, was stopped convincingly by Australia favourite Robert Whittaker in their main event clash last November. Silva, who is without a win since his TKO finish of Stephen Bonner back in 2012, is still regarded by many as the greatest to ever grace the octagon, currently holding the record for the most consecutive title defences in UFC history standing at 10, with UFC Flyweight master Demetrious 'Mighty Mouse' Johnson hot on the coat tails of Silva, with only one more defence seeing him tie the legendary Brazilian. Brunson is an explosive striker as of recent times, stopping Uriah Hall in the first round before succumbing to strikes against Whittaker. Silva, arguably the most devastating striker in the UFC's long history, can finish you with his slick boxing or flashy kicks, with almost surreal finishes against Forest Griffin and Vitor Belfort springing to mind. Silva an experienced Jiu-Jitsu player, has a very dangerous and unusual guard, submitting Chael Sonnen via a late triangle in their first clash. Silva's 'chin' has been tested considerably in his last couple of contests, with Michael Bisping dropping the GOAT and Chris Weidman finishing him in his eventual title win. Brunson's explosive power of late may prove a problem for the aging Silva who must be cautious when engaging with the Jackson's MMA trainee.
