Nate Marquardt V Sam Alvey: What will go down:

Former Strikeforce Welterweight champ Nate 'The Great' Marquardt, headlines the UFC Fight Night Denver prelims against fellow American knockout artist Sam Alvey. Marquardt, is 2-1 in his last three fights, finishing both C.B. Dollaway and Tamdan McCrory in between a KO loss to Thiago Santos. 'Smile'n' Sam Alvey, is riding a 3 fight win streak, finishing both Eric Spicely and Kevin Casey and most recently picking up a decision win over Alex Nicholson. Marquardt is also a former three time Pancrase Middleweight champion, holding a win over kickboxing legend Shonie Carter. Marquardt also challenged for the UFC Middleweight title against Anderson Silva, losing via first round knockout. Alvey is a genuine knockout artist, holding 18 wins by knockout in his 29-8 professional career. Marquardt is an impressive 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and his grappling alone may give him the upper hand against the younger Alvey.
