What next for Francis Ngannou:
Last Saturday night, we may have witnessed the best Francis Ngannou so far in the UFC octagon. 'The Predator', cemented his contender status after a huge first round knockout of former UFC Heavyweight champ Andrei 'The Pitbull' Arlovski. Ngannou has finished ever one of his UFC fights, and has been touted as a future champ by the organisation's president Dana White.
Ben Rothwell Battle: A real possible matchup for the Cameroon born Ngannou, is a bout against current #5 ranked Heavyweight challenger 'Big' Ben Rothwell. Rothwell was on an impressive 4 fight win streak, before a decision loss to the returning Junior Dos Santos back in April. Rothwell holds impressive wins over Brendan 'Big Brown' Schaub, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett. Both men have immense knockout power, and Rothwell, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is hugely underestimated on the ground, holding two consecutive gogo choke wins over Matt Mitrione and Josh Barnett before his loss to 'Cigano'.
The winner of Lewis V Browne: A behemount of a bash could be next for Ngannou, in the form of the winner between Derrick 'The Black Beast' Lewis and Travis Browne, who headline UFC Fight Night Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. Lewis, who is one of the most popular and loved fighters on the current UFC roster, faces a stern test in the form of 6 ft 7 in striker Travis 'Hapa' Browne, who recently swapped Glendale Fight Club, for Black House MMA, home to former UFC Middleweight king Anderson 'The Spider' Silva. This potential fight for Ngannou, is perfect stylistically, with both Lewis and Browne established strikers who would have no intention of a grappling match with 'The Predator'.
The loser of Overeem V Hunt II: This would most certainly be the eventual loser of the rematch between Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt at UFC 209 in March. Both men are phenomenal strikers, with Hunt the only man in the Heavyweight division, who could match Ngannou for power. Overeem has one of the nastiest left body kicks in the whole of MMA, and can deliver a fight finishing blow at any point during a contest. 'The Reem' also has a dangerous ground games, submitting Mark Hunt via Americana in their first meeting, and has a guillotine to be admired.
