Irish Strawweight Aisling Daly announces unfortunate retirement:

Dublin born UFC Women's Strawweight challenger Aisling 'Ais The Bash' Daly, has announced her retirement from mixed martial arts, after a brain scan revealed an abnormality due to a small haemorrhage. The 29 year-old Driminagh born fighter, began her professional career in 2007, and has been apart of Straight Blast Gym since the humble beginnings in 'The Shed', and her now nation wide known career under coach John Kavanagh. Daly, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is one of the original pioneers for women's MMA in the Republic of Ireland, competing on The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned season, making it to the tournaments quarter finals stage, where she lost a unanimous decision to Jessica Penne. Daly has competed in three well established MMA promotions, starring on Bellator, Invicta and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where she amassed a hugely impressive 16-6 record. Daly's most recognised victories have come against Jessica 'Evil' Eye, in the form of a rear-naked choke win, and a recent armbar victory over Alex Chambers. Bucking the trend of retiring with a loss, Daly last competed in 2015 in her home town of Dublin, where she picked up a decision victory over Ericka Almeida. Daly has been described as a fearless fighter by many in the sport, with John Kavanagh telling in his autobiography, Win or Learn, how Dublin's Daly often sparred with SBG's male competitors, including UFC Lightweight champ Conor McGregor. The world of mixed martial arts owes a lifetime to 29 year-old Daly, who has undoubtedly inspired young females around Ireland to take up the often gruelling and unforgiving profession.
