What next for Amanda Nunes:

At UFC 207, Brazilian superstar Amanda Nunes completely silenced each and every one of her critics and doubters, as she made easy work of former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey in one of the least competitive championship battles to ever take place in the UFC octagon. 'The Lioness' had 'Rowdy' hurt and stunned from the very first exchange until Herb Dean stepped in with only 48 second of the first round witnessed, utilising her monstrous punching power to finish the judo specialist in style, so the question remains, what's next for Nunes?

Title defence against Shevchenko or Peña: The most probable next fight for the Bahia born Bantamweight, is a second title defence against either former foe Valentina Shevchenko, or The Ultimate Fighter winner, Julianna Peña. Nunes comfortably picked up a unanimous decision victory over 'The Bullet' Shevchenko back in March of last year, but with Valentina, the experience gained from taking on and beating former Bantamweight champ Holly Holm, would certainly benefit her if she were to face Amanda once more. If Shevchenko is eager to have another crack at Nunes, she must first overcome hugely talented grappler Julianna Peña when the pair square off later in January in Denver, Colorado. Peña is unbeaten in her Ultimate Fighting Championship career, most recently overcoming Cat Zingano at UFC 200 and is currently the #3 ranked Bantamweight contender in the UFC.

Two weight world champ: Nunes would become the first women to ever hold two titles simultaneously in the UFC, and would join only Conor McGregor as the other fighter to achieve this incredible feat in the organisation. This in my opinion, is an incredibly realistic goal and aim for 'The Lioness' due to the recent creation of the UFC Women's Featherweight division. Holly Holm and Dutch kickboxer Germaine de Randamie are scheduled to battle for the inaugural Women's Featherweight title at UFC 208 in February, and the winner of that bout could easily have to defend against Nunes, due to the lack of Featherweight opposition in the UFC at the moment and the recent USADA flagging of Cris 'Cyborg'. Interestingly, Nunes has already faced 'The Iron Lady' de Randamie back at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3, scoring a first round TKO win. If Nunes and Holm were to clash in the future, I believe Holly's boxing background and striking technique would prove to be Amanda's most difficult matchup on the feet.
