Undefeated former Cage Warriors welterweight champion, Ross 'The Hitman' Houston has signed a contract to join the 170-pound ranks with Bellator MMA. As reported earlier this month, Houston vacated the Cage Warriors welterweight championship in order to negotiate with other promotions. News of the signing of one of the sport's highest touted free-agents was initially reported by Eurobash and Off The Ball feature, Niall McGrath.
Houston last featured in June of last year, in a Fight of the Year, 'No Contest' against recent UFC returnee, Nicolas Dalby - and touts an undefeated 8-0 professional record. The Inverness native has called for a matchup with kickboxing talent, Michael 'Venom' Page in recent weeks since his departure from Cage Warriors.
The submission-specialist won the Cage Warriors welterweight championship in another exciting contest, where he edged out Stefano Paternò in October of 2018 in a narrow split-decision victory. Houston joined the ranks of Graham Boylan's Cage Warriors promotion back in 2017 - where he managed five consecutive triumphs.
