James Gallagher has been forced from Bellator Dublin due to an undisclosed injury.

Bellator Dublin continues to reshape, following last week's co-main event fall out. SBG trainee, James 'The Strabanimal' Gallagher has been forced from his headlining clash with Sunderland's, Cal Ellenor, due to an undisclosed injury.

Gallagher and Ellenor were expected to finally clash on February 22nd. in the capital - after Ellenor was forced from an initial pairing at the promotion's last trip to Ireland in September. Gallagher continued to the main event - where he met with UFC alumni, Roman Salazar on short notice, securing a quick-fire guillotine victory in the opening frame. News of the injury was first reported by MMA Fighting'sPeter Carroll.

A featherweight pairing between Leah McCourt and Judith Ruis is now expected to serve as the event's headliner. The news of the scrapped main event follows last week's report - where fellow Straight Blast Gym staple, Peter Queally was forced from his co-headliner with former lightweight champion, Brent Primus, due to an ACL tear. Scottish Hit Squad finisher, Chris Bungard was then drafted in to meet with grappling ace, Primus.

News of the injury to Gallagher was address in an official statement from Bellator MMA on Tuesday morning.

"Due to an undisclosed injury, James Gallagher will no longer compete on February 22nd. in Dublin, and his bout with Cal Ellenor has been removed from the card. A women's featherweight matchup featuring Ireland's Leah McCourt taking on Germany's Judith Ruis will now headline Bellator's highly anticipated return to the 3Arena."
