Alistair Overeem vs. Walt Harris Rescheduled For UFC Portland In April

Overeem and Harris have been rebooked for UFC Fight Night Portland.

A couple of extremely dangerous heavyweights clash at UFC Fight Night Portland on April 11th. - as former title challenger, Alistair 'The Demolition Man' Overeem meets with surging contender, Walt 'The Big Ticket' Harris. News of the pairing was first reported by TSN's, Aaron Bronsteter.

It's a rescheduled bout between the two - following the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Harris' withdrawal from the pairing at UFC Fight Night D.C. late last year. The Alabama native was forced to remove himself from the main event clash due to the disappearance of his stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard in the weeks leading up to the event. In his first Octagon walk since Blanchard's death, Harris has been rebooked alongside Dutch kickboxing veteran, Overeem. Harris has earned a two-fight win streak since his 'No Contest' against Andrei Arlovski, finishing both Sergey Spivak and veteran submission-specialist, Aleksei Oleinik.

Former K-1, DREAM, and Strikeforce heavyweight best, Overeem, will attempt to return to the win column in April, following a devastating knockout loss to Suriname striker, Jairzinho Rozenstriuk in December. In a bout he was largely winning on all three judges' scorecards, Overeem was knocked out with an overhand right with only five seconds remaining in the final round - and suffered a horrific cut on his lip in the process.
