A women's flyweight pairing between Brazilian contenders, Jennifer Maia (17-6) and Viviane 'Vivi' Araújo (8-2) is on deck for UFC Fight Night Austin on June 27th. The all-Brazilian affair at 125-pounds will likely propel the victor toward a title-eliminator in the future. News of the pairing was initially reported by Combate writer, Raphael Marinho.

Former Invicta FC flyweight champion, Maia, recently dropped a decision defeat to recent title challenger, Katlyn 'Blonde Fighter'  Chookagian - her second defeat since her move to the UFC back in the summer of 2018. Aside from the defeat to Chookagian, and former flyweight and bantamweight title hopeful, Liz Carmouche, the 31-year-old has notched wins over Alexis Davis, and the veteran grappler, Roxanne Modafferi.

33-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Araújo, also dropped her last outing. The Ceilândia native lost a unanimous decision to another former title challenger, Jessica Eye - with the Xtreme Couture trainee tipping the scales at 131-pounds for their UFC 245 pairing. The loss marked Araújo's first defeat in the promotion. The submission-specialist joined the UFC ranks having claimed the vacant Pancrase strawweight title, and finished Talita Bernardo with strikes in her first Octagon walk, before similarly to June opponent, Maia, took a three-round decision against Alexis Davis.

UFC Fight Night Austin takes place on June 27th. with no venue for the event confirmed by the promotion as of yet.
