Peter Queally Tears LCL, Brent Primus Now Faces Chris Bungard At Bellator 240

The main event of Bellator MMA 240 has received a shake-up. SGB Ireland mainstay, Peter 'The Showstopper' Queally has been forced from his headlining clash with former lightweight champion, Brent Primus in Dublin on February 22nd. - revealing how he's torn his LCL in preparation for the clash. Per a Bellator MMA press release, Scottish finisher and rival of Queally, Chris 'The Bad Guy' Bungard with now face Primus as a short-notice replacement.

Taking to his official Twitter account on Thursday evening, Queally told how he had torn his lateral collateral ligament and how he hopes to return to action when the promotion returns to the capital in September.

Queally recently featured at Bellator Dublin last September rallying from a high-kick knockdown to finish Ryan Scope via a second-round knockout. The Waterford native joined the Bellator lightweight ranks back in February of last year - where he dropped a razor-thin split decision loss to former Straight Blast Gym teammate, and now American Kickboxing Academy feature, Myles 'Splinter' Price.

Former Bellator MMA lightweight best, Portland-based Primus, recently returned to the win column via a highlight-reel gogoplata submission of Tim Wilde, after losing the 155-pound title in a rematch with promotional mainstay, Michael Chandler. Primus is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and his December 2018 defeat to Chandler is the only professional loss on his record.

Scottish Hit Squad trainee, Bungard, recently returned to the winner's enclosure himself, lodging a submission win over Benjamin Brander after a unanimous decision defeat to Charlie Leary. Like Queally, Bungard also made his promotional bow in February of last year, winning against Terry Brazier via a rear-naked choke.
