Rose Namajunas Returns At UFC 249, Rematches Jéssica Andrade

A high-stakes strawweight pairing has been matched for UFC 249 on April 18th., as former division champions, Jéssica Andrade, and the fan-favorite, 'Thug' Rose Namajunas will throw down once more.
Brazilian powerhouse Andrade, suffered a defeat in her first title defense, as she dropped an opening-minute defeat to Zhang Weili at UFC Fight Night Shenzhen in August. Namajunas on the other hand - will make her first Octagon appearance since May last year, where she suffered a devastating slam knockout against Andrade, where she landed worryingly on her head. News of the pairing was first reported by ESPN staff writer, Ariel Helwani.
Denver based Namajunas, rose to Octagon stardom with her opening round knockout of Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 217, before successfully defending the strawweight title in a quickfire rematch with the pole the following April. Paraná native Andrade, made a good start to her strawweight tenure back in 2916, scoring a 7-2 record since her move from bantamweight. In both of her losses in the division, Andrade has dropped defeats to the previously mentioned, Joanna, and Zhang Weili - two championship counterparts. With Weili and Jędrzejczyk meeting the co-main event of UFC 248 in March, Andrade vs. Namajunas II represents a possible title-eliminator toward the latter quarter of 2020.
UFC 249 will take place on April 18th. from the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York. The event is set to be scheduled by a lightweight championship tie between reigning champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and longtime number one contender, Tony Ferguson. A middleweight pairing has also been confirmed for the event, as former Strikeforce 185-pound best, Jacaré makes a return from a brief light heavyweight excursion, as he meets with TUF alumni, Uriah 'Primetime' Hall.
