Conor McGregor Open To "Quick Turnaround" Against Justin Gaethje After UFC 246

Conor McGregor (right) has spoke of a potential matchup with Justin Gaethje after UFC 246.

Former two-weight world champion, 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor, has spoken about the possibility of a lightweight return after UFC 246 on January 18th. - but not immediately into a championship bout. The Dubliner, who meets Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone at welterweight in Las Vegas - has flirted with the idea of taking on division rival, Justin 'The Highlight' Gaethje, in a "quick turnaround". In an interview with Oscar Willis from, The Mac Life, the 31-year-old expressed his interest in matching up with the aforementioned Gaethje, who holds a rank higher than him at 155-pounds.

"He's on the list (Justin Gaethje)," McGregor said. "Maybe I will face him next, he has it coming to him. I laugh at aul Justin (Gaethje), he's a funny guy. He's been taking it very to heart (sic) and I know the feeling when you do that. So maybe Justin. Maybe I'll get through Donald (Cerrone) and I'll have a quick turnaround against Justin. Maybe that's what will happen. But, Justin is on the list, no doubt."

For Justin Gaethje, the Arizona native has tirelessly attempted to force a tie with Conor McGregor over the course of 2019 - and believes that in the current climate of the lightweight division, he is next for the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson, with both scheduled to meet for the fifth time on April 18th. at UFC 249.
