Despite a matchup with perennial contender, Yoel Romero reportedly on the horizon - reigning UFC middleweight champion, Israel 'The Last Stylebender' Adesanya has continued his tirade against current light heavyweight champion, Jon 'Bones' Jones.

The Nigerian-Kiwi is rumored to meet the aforementioned Romero in the main event of UFC 248 in March, with Jones questioning the legacy of the middleweight champion - and poked fun at Adesanya's choreographed walkout ahead of his tie with Robert Whittaker at UFC 243, ahead of a potential meeting with 'The Last Stylebender' next year. Speaking with ESPN writer, Ariel Helwani, on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show - Adesanya had some choice words for the Jackson-Wink MMA mainstay.

"That's another thing the motherf**ker said, Jon Jones; motherf**ker Jones. He's like, "well I mean when I'm done, I'm glad people can remember my accolades rather than my walkout." It's like, shut the f**k up. People are going to remember you because you're a drug cheat. You're a steroid cheat, that's what they're gonna remember. All the s**t you done (sic) after 'Shogun' (Mauricio Rua), no one really cares anymore 'cause they know you cheated. You popped on the same month as your brother, in 2016. That's all they're gonna remember. So, my walkouts are going to be even greater than his (Jones') career. And like I said, I'm only just getting started, I'm f**king nearly two years in the UFC. As I said, I'm only just coming up two (sic) years in this f**king company. Imagine what I'm going to do in the next five - the next six, seven years. I'm only two years in, he's already a boomer, he's old, he's washed. Walkouts to knockouts - you're welcome."

Adesanya has predicted a clash with Jones in potentially 2021 and plans to move to light heavyweight to meet with the Albequerque based look-see-do fighter - after he clears out the middleweight division of viable contenders. Jones, on the other hand, has unfinished business at 205-pounds, as he meets with the undefeated, Dominick 'The Devastator' Reyes, in the main event of UFC 247 in Houston, Texas. For Adesanya, the former kickboxing ace was set to meet with another undefeated prospect - Paulo Costa, until bicep surgery forced the Brazilian from any potential tie for the time being. Although not officially announced by the promotion as of yet, it is widely believed Adesanya will take on Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC 248 at the T-Mobile Arena in March.
