Darren Till will make a quick turnaround after his November tie against Kelvin Gastelum.

Former UFC welterweight title challenger, Darren 'The Gorilla' Till has been called upon to save a certain middleweight title eliminator at UFC 248 in March.

The Liverpudlian will replace former division gold-holder, Robert Whittaker, as he meets the streaking, Jared 'The Killa Gorilla' Cannonier in a monstrous matchup. The Muay Thai practitioner recently made the middleweight limit for the first time in the promotion - on his way to a unanimous decision triumph over one-time interim title chaser, Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 last November. News of the pairing was first reported by Fansided MMA reporter and photographer, Amy Kaplan.

The charismatic striker was briefly linked to a UFC London homecoming against grappler, Jack Hermansson, with the bout failing to come to fruition. Hermansson is widely expected to be pitted against the aforementioned Gastelum instead.

Off the back of his win over Kings MMA trainee, Gastelum, Till was handed the #5 rank in a stacked middleweight division, with Cannonier sitting just above the 27-year-old in the #4 spot. The pairing of the two knockout artists will more than likely determine the next challenger to the 185-pound throne - with that championship up for grabs on the same night. Reigning champion, Israel Adesanya is believed to have agreed on a deal to meet long-time perennial contender, Yoel Romero, in his first attempted title defense since his UFC 243 unification bout against the previously mentioned, Whittaker.

For Jared Cannonier, he still gets a high-level opponent and retains the opportunity to compete for the throne with a victory in March. The Texan has made some serious noise among the ranks at middleweight - surging with three consecutive finishes of former two-weight WSOF champion, David Branch, former middleweight king, Anderson Silva, and guillotine specialist, Jack Hermansson.
