Kevin Lee vs. Charles Oliveira Set To Headline UFC Fight Night Brasilia In March

An exciting lightweight meeting is set for UFC Fight Night Brasilia.

A lightweight pairing between former interim lightweight title challenger, Kevin 'The Mo' Town Phenom' Lee, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert, Charles 'Do Bronx' Oliveira is expected to headline UFC Fight Night Brasilia on March 14th. News of the matchup was first reported by Combate writer, Gleidson Venga.

In a recent interview, Oliveira's manager, Diego Lima, called for a pairing against either Lee or perennial lightweight contender, Justin Gaethje - with his client making huge waves in the lightweight waters via six straight victories at 115-pounds. The #13 ranked contender successfully maintained his win streak on home soil last time out, handing Jared 'Flash' Gordan an opening-round knockout defeat. Along with his six-fight win streak, Oliveira brings with him, one of the best offensive grappling games in mixed-martial-arts today. The Sao Paulo native has set a record for most submissions in promotional antiquity, with a staggering thirteen separate submission stoppages since his UFC debut in 2010.

Tipped for Octagon gold in the future by many, Detriot native, Lee, recently made his return to lightweight - in quite spectacular fashion. Now under the tutelage of Firas Zahabi at Tristar, Lee featured on the main card of UFC 244 against undefeated grappler, Gregor Gillespie. Earning Knockout of the Night honors, Lee scored a first frame high kick knockout over the highly-touted prospect. Off the back of the highlight reel win, Lee was handed the #8 rank in a stacked lightweight division.

UFC Fight Night Brasilia takes place on March 14th. from the Ginásio Nilson Nelson arena. A co main-event has been penned for the event, in what promises to be a grappling showcase between Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champions, Demian Maia, and Gilbert Burns. In more action at 170-pounds, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos will make his Octagon return as he meets with the previously noted, Alexey Kunchenko. At 205-pounds, the exciting Johnny Walker will feature against Ukrainian grappler, Nikita Krylov. 125-pound championship hopefuls, Jussier Formiga and Brandon Moreno will also feature on the card. In strawweight action, Paige VanZant will return as she tackles the rising contender, Amanda Ribas in enemy territory. Talented grappler, Rani Yahya will also feature at the event as he takes on Peru's, Enrique Barzola. At 135-pounds, Veronica Macedo will face off with Bea Malecki. In heavyweight action, Carlos Felipe meets Jeff Hughes. at 125-pounds, Maryna Moroz tackles Mayra Bueno Silva.
