Conor McGregor Drafts Phil Sutcliffe Into Camp Ahead Of UFC 246

Crumlin native, 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor has returned to home roots ahead of his UFC 246 tie with Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone on January 18th. as he's drafted former two-time Olympian boxer, Phil Sutcliffe into camp. The 31-year-old, began boxing at Crumlin Boxing Club during his teenage years, mainly under the tutelage of Sutcliffe - and according to reports, the 1980 Moscow and 1984 Los Angeles Olympian will travel to Las Vegas with Team McGregor in preparation for UFC 246.
Sutcliffe will join up with head coach, John Kavanagh, Owen Roddy, and esteemed wrestler, Sergey Pikulsky - as McGregor makes his first Octagon appearance since October 2018. During the run-up to the Christmas period, former lightweight and featherweight champion, McGregor, returned to Crumlin Boxing Club where he participated in a charity exhibition boxing match alongside John Joe Joyce. The SBG star is also said to have consulted Sutcliffe ahead of his record-breaking professional boxing debut against Floyd 'Money' Mayweather Jr. in August 2017. Phil Sutcliffe is a four-time national Irish boxing champion and two-time European Amateur Boxing Championship bronze medalist.
