Mackenzie Dern Returns At UFC Nebraska, Meets Ariane Carnelossi

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player, Mackenzie Dern, will look to return to the win column at UFC Fight Night Nebraska on April 25th., as she meets with Brazilian compatriot, Ariane Carnelossi in a strawweight bout. News of the booking was initially penned by Combate reporter, Raphael Marinho.
Dern, the daughter of renowned grappler, 'Megaton' Dias - dropped her first professional loss in her last outing at UFC Fight Night Tampa, as Amanda Ribas outstruck Dern in another all-Brazilian affair to claim a unanimous decision triumph. Sao Paulo native, Carnelossi lost her promotional bow to former Invicta FC strawweight best, Angela Hill back in September in Mexico City, as she moved to 12-2 as a professional.
Arizona born Dern, has made some big waves in her brief Octagon stint, debuting with a close, split decision victory over Ashley Yoder - before a rear-naked choke win over Amanda Cooper in Brazil, in a performance which was deprived of some shine after the 25-year-old tipped the scales at 123-pounds for the strawweight clash. The two-time World Jiu-Jitsu champion returned from maternity leave in her recent outing against Ribas.
Carnelossi, 27, joined the promotion after some regional success on the Sao Paulo circuit, bringing an impressive twelve-fight win-streak along to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
UFC Fight Night Nebraska takes place on April 25th. at the Pinnacle Bank Arena, and is headlined by a light heavyweight clash between former title challengers, Anthony Smith, and Glover Teixeira. In a flyweight bout, Cynthia Calvillo returns against Antonina Shevchenko, while in a lightweight pairing, Evan Dunham welcomes Michael 'The Menace' Johnson back to the division. At 170-pounds, Anthony Rocco Martin takes on David Zawada. In middleweight action, Zak Cumming takes on TUF victor, Andrew Sanchez.
