'Cowboy' Cerrone Warns Conor McGregor Of "Low Blow" Trash Talking Ahead Of UFC 246

With a Press Conference ahead of UFC 246 scheduled for next Wednesday - the promotional aspect of McGregor vs. Cowboy is beginning to ramp-up.
It's been a relatively quiet approach to a contest for McGregor, especially considering his tirade against Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018, and ahead of the press event on January 15th., event opponent, Cerrone, has warned the Dubliner of any potential "low blow" trash-talking. The usual press-junkets are scarce with this contest - but in an interview with MMA Fighting, the Denver based Muay Thai practitioner has spoken of the potential antics which may greet him next Wednesday in Las Vegas.
"He's the best at it, he is the best (trash-talker)," Cerrone said. "The thing is you'd really have to go low, talk about my grandma or my kid and then it would put it on another level. You understand what I'm saying? Then I'll just come and f**k you up in the lobby type s**t. I don't think it's ever going to go that way. He (Conor McGregor) understands that. We're fighting, he can talk about that all he wants but don't low blow. Just like I don't say nothing (sic) about him. I don't care. He lives his life out of fighting, that's his thing. I got nothing to say about it. He's his own man. I'm going to try and get in there and mix it up with him. I'm happy to welcome him back (to the Octagon)."
Cerrone has notoriously struggled with trash-talking earlier in his career, particularly in his late 2011 clash with Nate Diaz at lightweight. At a pre-fight press event, the former WEC and UFC lightweight championship hopeful faced-off with the Stockton favorite - with Diaz jabbing verbally before knocking off 'Cowboy{s}' hat. Speaking years later on The Joe Rogan Experience, Cerrone told how he fought entirely against a certain gameplan that night - fighting with emotions instead, in a rather one-sided unanimous decision defeat.
Against perennial welterweight contender, Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal - we experienced some rather ill-fated words from the American Top Team staple toward the former Jackson-Wink MMA all-rounder. Before an eventual second-round knockout victory, Masvidal explained how he was rather upset with failed matchups, and in particular, Cerrone. "I feel like I'm going to break his (Donald Cerrone's) face. I'm telling you I have a lot of ill will toward him for different reasons."
In the run-up to UFC 246, this is the first time we've really seen McGregor turn away from a brash, trash-talking approach, so far. Against the likes of Dustin Poirier, Dennis Siver, Chad Mendes, Eddie Alvarez, Nate Diaz and maybe most infamously, José Aldo - the Straight Blash Gym trainee exacted a brutal pre-fight verbal display against each, in what later was branded as, "mental warfare".
