RIZIN FF Light Heavyweight Champion Jiři Procházka Signs With The UFC

Jiři Procházka has joined the 205-pound ranks of the UFC.

The UFC's light heavyweight ranks have just received a major addition. Rizin FF light heavyweight best, Czech Republic native, Jiři Procházka, has signed a multi-fight Octagon deal. The 27-year-old will enter the light heavyweight fray - bringing with him an impressive ten fight win streak. News of the signing was first reported by ESPN staff writer, Brett Okamoto.

With an incredible sixteen knockout wins to his name, Procházka is sure to put 205-pound contenders on notice. The Hosteradice native has some notable victories pasted on his professional résumé - handing losses to Muhammad 'King Mo' Lawal, Satoshi Ishii, Vadim Nemkov, and former UFC contenders, Fábio Maldonado, and C.B. Dollaway. Procházka was believed to be weighing up his options after his victory over Dollaway, with offers from Scott Coker's Bellator MMA also on the table. His move to the UFC brings the curtain down on his five-year stint with Japan-based promotion, RIZIN Fighting Federation.

The promotion is yet to announce an Octagon debut opponent for Procházka, but expect the Jetsaam Gym trainee to tackle within the top ten of the division from the get-go.
