A featherweight bout between former undisputed UFC bantamweight champion, Holly Holm and division contender, Norma Dumont is currently in the works to feature at a UFC Fight Night event on October 16th. -- with a location or venue for the event yet to be determined by the promotion.

Returning for the first time since October of last year, Holm, a former featherweight title challenger took home an impressive unanimous decision victory over Guadalajara striker, Irene Aldana over the course of a five round UFC Fight Island main event.

For Viana, the Belo Horizonte native last featured against one-time featherweight title chaser, Felicia Spencer at UFC Vegas 27 back in May -- scoring a close split decision victory over the former Invicta FC titleholder in her featherweight divisional bow. News of the targeted tie between Holm and Dumont was first reported by MMA Fighting reporters, Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz

The targeted October bout for Holm will mark the Albuquerque striker's first outing at the 145lb featherweight limit since a unanimous decision victory over former title challenger and promotional alum, Megan Anderson at UFC 225 back in June of 2018.

Holm was recently scheduled to meet with incoming bantamweight title challenger, Julianna Pena at a UFC Vegas 26 event in May, however, was forced from the tie citing hydronephrosis. Pena was removed from the card entirely in favour of a rescheduled title fight against Amanda Nunes which is scheduled to co-headline UFC 265 on August 7th.

A former undisputed bantamweight champion, Holm scored the title with a highlight-reel high-kick knockout win over the then-undefeated inaugural bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey in the main event of UFC 193 in November of 2015.

Amongst her professional victories in MMA, Jackson-Wink MMA mainstay, Holm has defeated the likes of Jan Finney, Raquel Pennington (x2), Marion Reneau, Bethe Correia, Anderson, and the aforenoted, Aldana.

6-1 as a professional, 29-year-old Brazil native, Dumont has featured three times under the UFC's banner -- establishing a 2-1 promotional résumé.

In her organizational bow, Dumont suffered a first round knockout loss to the above mentioned common-opposition, Anderson at UFC Fight Night Norfolk in February of last year, before nabbing a pair of judging successes against Ashlee Evans-Smith in her sole sanctioned bantamweight bout, before a split win over Spencer.
