Daniel Cormier: Conor McGregor 'Crossed The Line' With Tweet Mocking Khabib Nurmagomedov's Late Father

Former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier has given his thoughts on former fellow two-weight champion, Conor McGregor's heavily-criticized tweet aimed at the passing of Khabib Nurmagomedov's father, Abdulmanap last July, explaining that the Dubliner absolutely "crossed the line".

At the beginning of this week, McGregor, who is currently recovering from a leg fracture suffered in his UFC 264 trilogy rubber match against Dustin Poirier, appeared to mock the passing of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov last July following a brief battle with the novel coronavirus, replying to Khabib by questioning if the novel coronavirus was "good" for "defeating" his "evil" father when the undefeated Dagestani alluded to good defeating evil when Poirier took a doctor's stoppage win over McGregor earlier this month. 

McGregor subsequently deleted the tweet within about 20-minutes of posting, however, received mass criticism for the mocking comment.

Sharing his thoughts on McGregor's comments about Khabib's father, as well as his comments regarding Poirier's wife, Jolie whom he called a "hoe" following his first round doctor's stoppage at UFC 264, UFC colour commentator, Cormier denounced McGregor's comments during a recent episode of DC & RC -- claiming the Dubliner "crossed the line".

"You know what's most disturbing?" Cormier said. "This (the deleted tweet) wasn't done the day after the fight (UFC 264) or the same night of the fight/ This was done weeks after the fight, so it feels like it was thought of and it was thought through for Conor (McGregor) to tweet something like that."

"(It) absolutely crossed the line," Cormier explained. "I think when stuff like that is being said, it's a cry for help. Conor has all the money in the world, he has all the fame, but now when you start to dig at that level, it's like somebody needs to get to McGregor and help him to start to kind of re-shift his mind and his focus and get him back to a better place.
