Video - Conor McGregor, Rafael dos Anjos Involved In Verbal Exchange At UFC 264 Weigh-Ins

Once-scheduled foes all the way back in March of 2016 -- former UFC lightweight champions, Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos shared some unpleasantries yesterday afternoon following their respective weigh-ins ahead of UFC 264 tonight.

McGregor, who headlines tonight's return to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada -- draws former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier in a trilogy rubber match -- attempting to avenge a January knockout loss to the Lafayette native. 

Niteroi veteran, dos Anjos, isn't actually scheduled to compete at tonight's UFC 264 event, however, the former 155lbs gold holder successfully made the lightweight limit as a backup fighter for tonight's main event between Poirier and McGregor, as per request from the UFC.

Reports emerged following dos Anjos' and McGregor's respective weigh-ins yesterday afternoon, detailing how the two had been involved in a verbal altercation at the venue, with security corralling McGregor.

In a post regarding the altercation, dos Anjos called McGregor a "snake" for allegedly sneaking up on him, before claiming they would eventually settle their business in the Octagon after a failed prior pairing,

"Conor (McGregor) you're such a snake, sneaking from behind and playing tough," dos Anjos posted on Twitter. "Soon or later we will finish business. I'm not like the guys you play around with."

Footage of the verbal interaction between the two was caught on tape by the UFC's production team as part of the sixth and final installment of their Embedded series for UFC 264 -- with McGregor alluding to dos Anjos' withdrawal from their UFC 196 lightweight title fight back in March of 2016, claiming that the Brazilain withdrew with a "sore toe" rather than a broken metatarsal. 

dos Anjos was scheduled to attempt the second defence of his lightweight championship against then-featherweight gold holder, McGregor back in March of 2016, until the bout was shelved mere weeks before fight night after the defending champion had suffered a broken metatarsal during the last sparring session of his fight camp.

Prior to UFC 223 back in April of 2018, McGregor had alluded to a potential interim welterweight title fight against dos Anjos which was expected to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 12th. -- until McGregor threw a moving dolly at a bus containing red corner fighters and arch-rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov in a loading bay at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York -- resulting in his arrest.
