Tatiana Suarez Suffers Injury, Out Of UFC 266 Bout With Roxanne Modafferi On September 25th.

Undefeated wrestling standout, Tatiana Suarez has been forced from her flyweight divisional bow on September 25th. at UFC 266 against Roxanne Modafferi, with reports detailing how the Californian has suffered an injury setback. 

According to a report from ESPN Deportes reporter, Carlos Contreras Legaspi tonight, Suarez has been forced to withdraw from her scheduled flyweight bow against veteran division mainstay, Modafferi due to injury -- with the promotion set to subsequently remove Modafferi from the event entirely in favour of rescheduling the matchup for an event in the future.

The September 25th. event would have marked Suarez's first outing since a unanimous decision win over Nina Nunes back in June of 2019 at UFC 238 -- where she moved to 8-0 as a professional. In the time since, Suarez has been dealing with debilitating neck and back issues, however, confirmed recently that she had been medically cleared to return to active competition, before booking her comeback opposite Modafferi.

Suarez, the victor of The Ultimate Fighter 23 back in July of 2016 is undefeated from eight professional walks, and holds two knockout victories to go with a further three submission successes. 

The 30-year-old Californian has notched Octagon triumphs against Amanda Cooper, Viviane Pereira, Alexa Grasso, inaugural UFC and Invicta FC strawweight champion, Carla Esparza, as well as her unanimous judging success against the aforenoted, Nunes. 

Representing the United States in the 2008 Tokyo World Championships and the 2010 Moscow World Championships, Suarez took home bronze medals on both occasions. In 2013 and 2015 in her native California, Suarez struck gold at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
