Manager Refutes Claim That Mariya Agapova Was Axed From ATT Due To Drug Use, Threats To Stab Members

UFC flyweight upstart, Mariya Agapova's manager, Alex Davis has denied allegations from his client's former teammate Maryna Moroz that the Kazakhstan native was banished from American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida amid alleged drug use and violent behaviour displayed toward then-teammates, including alleged threats of stabbings.

According to Moroz, who spoke during a recent Instagram live session, Agapova crashed her vehicle whilst under the influence of drugs, as well as threatening to stab a member of American Top Team.

"She says: I don't have money for food, I don't have that," Moroz said about Agapova per translation from Sports Express. "(She) crashed the car in a drugged stage. In general, a very interesting person... she was kicked out of two halls, and in American Top Team she threatened guys, and this was filmed. She threatened the guys under (the influence of) drugs, and she was kicked out of the hall. Because she threatened to stab and so on. She also pursued the wife of one soldier, who is pregnant, and also threatened to stab her. In general, the police called her four times already here. Knocked down the doors.. And that's all -- Maria (Mariya) Agapova, a drug addict with the UFC."

"Many tried to help her get our of the hole into which she kept climbing, climbing," Moroz continued. "She came to training after the club, after all these drugs. Her pupils were dilated all the time. And when the coach said that I needed to stand in a pair with her, I replied that I could not work with her -- she was intense. She behaves inappropriately. She can swing her elbow to hit you, then say, 'Oh, I'm sorry. I don't understand.' Just an inadequate person. And yes: she was kicked out of the gym because she behaved inappropriately."

Agapova's manager, Davis released a statement to MMA Fighting recently, denying those claims made by Ukraine native, Moroz -- explaining that the flyweight prospect is preparing for her next Octagon walk, following her relocation to fellow 'Sunshine State' facility, MMA Masters.

"Mariya (Agapova) went through some difficult moments," Davis said. "She was all alone (in the United States), but now she's been through therapy, she's much better and she's already training for a fight. It had nothing to do with drugs. Absolutely nothing."

"This is Mariya's private life that we're not going to make an issue to make her private life public," Davis continued. "She came to the (United) States from Kazakhstan, she went through some difficult moments, she had some crises, she got therapy, she's doing very, very well now. She's already training for a fight. There's no drugs. It has nothing to do with it."

An alum of both Dana White's Contender Series and Invicta FC -- 24-year-old Pavlodar native, Agapova has featured twice under the UFC's banner, debuting with a first round rear-naked choke win over Hannah Cifers back in June of last year at UFC Vegas 2. 

In her first promotional loss, Agapova suffered a second round knockout defeat to Shana Dobson, with the loss equalling Holly Holm's UFC 193 knockout win over Ronda Rousey as the largest betting underdog upset win across the UFC's women's divisions. Her victory over Cifers won her Performance of the Night honours.
