Report - Douglas Lima vs. Yaroslav Amosov Booked For Bellator 260 On June 11th.

Reigning Bellator MMA welterweight champion, Douglas 'The Phenom' Lima will attempt to make his first title defence of his third reign on June 11th. at Bellator 260 as he draws the undefeated #1 contender, Yaroslav Amosov in a main event clash at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. 

Hoping to return to the winner's enclosure in his divisional comeback, Lima unsuccessfully challenged Gegard Mousasi for the middleweight crown at Bellator 250 last October, dropping a unanimous decision loss to the decorated veteran.

Ukrainian standout, Amosov holds a perfect undefeated record of 25-0 -- earning his crack at the welterweight crown via a split decision success against Logan Storley at Bellator 252 in November. Yahoo! Sports reporter, Kevin Iole was first to report the news of the championship clash.

Lima, 33, is a whopping three-time Bellator welterweight champion -- beginning his third championship reign back in October of 2019 at Bellator 232 with a rematch unanimous decision win over now PFL feature, Rory MacDonald. 

A decorated finisher who holds an incredible 32-8 record, which features fourteen knockout successes and twelve further submission stoppages, the Goiania native has competed professionally since 2006.

A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Raon Carneiro, Lima has notched notable career triumphs over the likes of Ben Saunders (x2), Rick Hawn, Paul Daley, Andrey Koreshkov (x), Lorenz Larkin, Michael Page, as well as the above-mentioned, MacDonald.

Three-time Sambo world champion, Amosov has made big waves in the Bellator ranks -- scoring six consecutive wins since his promotional bow back in July of 2018.

Scoring ten submission wins throughout his career as well as nine knockouts, the Dynamo native has bested the likes of Roberto Soldic, Gerald Harris, Erick Silva, David Rickels, and Ed Ruth prior to his win over Storley.
