Report - Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Augusto Sakai Headlines UFC Event On June 5th.

A heavyweight matchup between Suriname kickboxer, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and fellow knockout ace, Augusto Sakai will take main event status at a June 5th. UFC Fight Night event -- with a location or venue for the event yet to be determined by the promotion.
Headlining his second consecutive Fight Night billed event, Rozenstruik suffered a largely one-sided unanimous decision defeat to French standout, Ciryl Gane at UFC Vegas 20 in February.
Also suffering a defeat in his last outing, Sakai took main event honours for the first time in his UFC stint, dropping an eventual fifth-round knockout defeat to veteran contender, the recently released, Alistair Overeem at UFC Vegas 9 in September last. News of the headlining tilt was first reported by Combate reporter, Marcelo Barone.
Sakai was initially scheduled to return at UFC Vegas 25 on May 1st. against Shamil Abdurakhimov, with VISA issues once more halting the return of the Dagestan veteran.
Briefly returning to winning ways following a devastating first-round knockout loss to current heavyweight kingpin, Francis Ngannou at UFC 249 last May, Rozenstruik scored a second round knockout of his own over former heavyweight best, Junior dos Santos at UFC 252 in August prior to his judging loss to Gane.
A seven-fight Octagon veteran, the 33-year-old Paramaribo kickboxing talent made massive waves throughout the heavyweight division prior to his Jacksonville, Florida knockout defeat to Ngannou -- scoring four consecutive knockout wins over Junior Albini, Allen Crowder, former champion, Andrei Arlovski, and common-foe, Overeem.
Parana native, Sakai is a product of Dana White's Contender Series -- launching himself to the UFC following an August 2018 knockout win over Marcos Conrado.
Undefeated in the promotion prior to his September UFC Apex loss to Overeem, Sakai managed to take victories over Chase Sherman, common-opposition, Arlovski, as well as Marcin Tybura, and a controversial split judging win over Blagoy Ivanov.
