Report - UFC Featherweight Zabit Magomedsharipov Contemplating Retirement

UFC featherweight contender, Zabit Magomedsharipov is reportedly contemplating his future in professional mixed martial arts. The Russian standout has yet to feature since UFC Fight Night Moscow back in November of 2019, and was recently removed from the official UFC rankings due to inactivity. Zabit was ranked at #3 in the official rankings prior to his removal.
A six-fight promotional veteran, Zabit has scored a flawless 6-0 record in his time with the UFC, which began back in September of 2017. The 30-year-old is a former ACB featherweight champion, and is riding a staggering fourteen-fight undefeated run.
Removed from the official UFC featherweight pile earlier this month due to inactivity, Zabit has seen multiple attempted matchups with fellow division standout, Yair Rodriguez fall to the wayside over the last eighteen months.
Most recently, Rodriguez was scheduled to tackle Zabit at UFC Vegas 8 in August in a headlining bout, until the Chihuahua native was forced out of the main event clash due to an ankle injury. Zabit was subsequently removed from the card altogether.
The Dagestan-born contender most recently met with Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC Fight Night Moscow back in November of 2019, where he managed a close unanimous decision win in a short-notice three-round headliner after an injury forced him from a UFC Fight Night Boston matchup in October.
Per a report from Russian outlet, TASS -- sources informed them that Zabit is likely to call time on his professional mixed martial arts career; "With a high degree of possibility, Zabit will no longer fight," the source claimed.

Prior to his unanimous judging win over New England Cartel standout, Kattar, Zabit took home wins over veteran puncher, Jeremy Stephens, Mike Santiago, Sheymon Moraes, a Fight of the Year contender against Kyle Bockniak, and an innovative Suloev stretch submission success against Brandon Davis.
