A potential UFC bantamweight title-eliminator between inaugural UFC featherweight titleholder, Germaine de Randamie, and Sinaloa knockout-ace, Irene Aldana will feature on the main card of UFC 268 on November 6. from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Later stripped of the title due to inactivity, de Randamie would go on to lodge later victories over Raquel Pennington, Aspen Ladd, as well as the above-mentioned, Pena.
In other Octagon wins, Aldana has bested Talita Bernardo, Lucie Pudilova, Bethe Correia, Vanessa Melo, as well as the above-noted, Vieira and Kunitskaya.
Hoping to score a second bantamweight title challenge in her next outing, Dutch kickboxing standout, de Randamie turned in a surprising third round guillotine stoppage over incoming bantamweight title chaser, Julianna Pena at UFC Fight Island 4 last October.
For Aldana, the Mexican puncher last featured just a month ago at UFC 264 -- rebounding to the winner's enclosure herself with an eye-catching opening round bludgeoning knockout over former featherweight title challenger, Yana Kunitskaya. The Lobo Gym trainee tipped the bantamweight scales at 139.5lbs for the outing. The UFC announced the pairing during the broadcast of UFC Vegas 35.
10-4 as a professional mixed martial artist, former kickboxing standout, de Randamie clinched the inaugural featherweight title with a controversial unanimous decision win over former bantamweight gold holder, Holly Holm at UFC 208.

13-6 as a professional from 19 walks, Aldana entered title contention back at UFC 245 in December 2019 -- stopping Manaus native, Kelten Vieira with a massive knockout, handing the Brazilian her first professional loss.
Headlining that aforenoted UFC Fight Island 4 card in October, Aldana lost a rather one-sided unanimous judging loss to common-foe, Holm over the course of five rounds in her first headlining bout in the UFC.
