A lightweight rematch between recent promotional signing, Mason 'The Dragon' Jones, and veteran Brazilian, Alan "Nuguette' Patrick has been booked for UFC on ESPN+ 54 on October 23. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In a re-run of their UFC Vegas 28 bout which took place in June, both Jones and Patrick look to score finality this time around following a 'No Contest' judging in their recent pairing, after the former landed an inadvertent eye poke on Patrick, leaving the 38-year-old unable to continue.

Set for his third walk under the UFC's banner, Jones, a former two-weight Cage Warriors champion, debut under the organization's scrutiny back in January of this year at UFC Fight Island 8 in Abu Dhabi, UAE -- dropping his first career defeat in a close back-and-forth with Mike Davis.

When pitted against Jones again in October, Patrick looks to snap a run which has seen him winless in his last three straight Octagon walks. Combate reporter, Raphael Marinho was first to report the news of the rematch between Jones and Patrick.

Welsh standout, Jones entered the UFC boasting an eye-catching 10-0 professional record, having just scored the undisputed Cage Warriors welterweight title with a first round knockout win over Adam Procter in the Graham Boylan-led promotion.

Prior to his win over Procter, Jones had bested recently minted undisputed lightweight gold holder, Joe McColgan with a first round knockout to lift the then-vacant 155lbs title back in March of last year. In other notable victories in Cage Warriors, the 26-year-old Blaenavon native has taken wins over the likes of Aleksi Mantykivi, Donovan Desmae, and Kacper Formela.

Veteran Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Patrick is set to make the Octagon walk for the 10. time when matched against Jones again, having established a professional record of 15-3(1).

With four knockouts to go with two other submission wins, Patrick has notched triumphs against notables names such as John Makdessi, Stevie Ray, and Damir Hadzovic in the promotion.

UFC on ESPN+ 54 takes place on October 23. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, and features a middleweight clash between one-time title challengers, Paulo 'The Eraser' Costa and Marvin 'The Italian Dream' Vettori as the night's main event.
