Patrick Lehane Wins Combate Global Euro Tournament With First Round KO Win In Miami

Straight Blast Gym mainstay, Patrick 'The Leech' Lehane has got his professional mixed martial arts career off to a flying start this afternoon in Miami, Florida -- scooping the Combate Global European tournament with a first round knockout victory over France's, Maxime Giacalone.
Progressing to the tournament finale, Cork native, Lehane met with French grappler, Giacalone who had bested the undefeated Italian, Gianluca Rocca on the other side of the bracket.
Lehane, who boasted a 6-8 amateur record into his professional debut at tonight's Combate Global event, met with Spain's Sebas Santana Guedes in the first bracket -- taking a unanimous decision victory over the 6-0 professional after the opening frame.
Progressing to the tournament finale, Cork native, Lehane met with French grappler, Giacalone who had bested the undefeated Italian, Gianluca Rocca on the other side of the bracket.
Meeting with Giacalone in a three round finale bout, Straight Blast Gym mainstay, Lehane managed to stop the French grappler with strikes in the opening frame -- extending his undefeated professional record to 2-0 following his debut against Guedes, and lifting the tournament crown.
The victory for Straight Blast Gym trainee comes off the back of mixed bag of fortunes for both the camp as well the Irish professional mixed martial arts scene. At Bellator 263 last night at The Forum in Inglewood, Calfornia -- Wexford native, Brian 'The Pikeman' Moore extended his winning spree to three fights with a unanimous decision win over Jordan Winski.
In the night's second preliminary bout, Smithfield striker, Kiefer 'BDK' Crosbie suffered his second consecutive loss in the form of an opening round arm-triangle defeat to veteran Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Georgi Karakhanyan.
