Report - Sean Brady Out, Kevin Lee Now Meets Daniel Rodriguez At UFC Vegas 35 On August 28th.

Former interim UFC lightweight championship challenger, Kevin 'The Mo'Town Phenom' Lee is set to remain on the UFC Vegas 35 card on August 28th. -- clashing with streaking knockout artist, Daniel 'D-Rod' Rodriguez, as the Californian replaces the undefeated Sean Brady who has been forced from the bout with Lee due to a foot infection.
Lee, who was slated to make his return to the welterweight division against Roufusport grappler, Brady back in July at UFC 264 -- was himself forced from the pairing due to a minor injury. His August 28th. pairing will come as his first Octagon walk since surgery to repair two torn ACLs as well as his return from a UFC Fight Night Brasilia headlining loss to recently minted lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira.
For short-notice replacement, Rodriguez, the 34-year-old kickboxer features for the third time this year -- hoping to lodge his third consecutive victory and arguably the most high-profile win of his professional career to date. Rodriguez most recently featured just a month ago at UFC Vegas 31 -- stopping Preston Parsons with first round strikes. News of the reworked pairing of Lee and Rodriguez was first reported by Cageside Press reporter, Alex Behunin.
Recent Tristar MMA mover, Lee managed to score a massive opening round high-kick knockout victory over the then-undefeated wrestling standout, Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244 back in November of 2019 -- prior to his third round guillotine loss to Oliveira, where he also tipped the lightweight scales at 158.5lbs.
A former interim lightweight title challenger, the Michigan native has scored notable Octagon victories over the likes of Michel Prazeres, Efrain Escudero, Jake Matthews, Magomed Mustafaev, Francisco Trinaldo, Michael Chiesa, and UFC Vegas 35 headliner, Edson Barboza.
A product of Dana White's Contender Series back in July of 2019 -- Rodriguez landed in the organization with an impressive second round guillotine win over veteran division mainstay, Tim Means. In his sole Octagon loss, Rodriguez suffered a unanimous decision blemish against Nicolas Dalby.
In his three other Octagon walks, Rodriguez who largely plys his trade at the BMF Ranch alongside future Hall of Fame inductee, Donald Cerrone, has bested Gabriel Green, Dwight Grant, as well as the polarizing, Mike Perry.
UFC Vegas 35 takes place on August 28th. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada and features a mouth-watering featherweight headliner between the aforenoted, Edson Barboza and Georgian kickboxing standout, Giga Chikadze.
