Report - Frankie Edgar Returns, Meets Marlon Vera At UFC 268 On November 6th.

A bantamweight showdown between the returning former UFC lightweight champion, Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar, and Ecuadorian finisher, Marlon 'Chito' Vera has been added to UFC 268 on November 6. from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Edgar, a former undisputed lightweight champion, will feature for the third time at bantamweight since his move to the division back in August of last year. The Toms River native co-headlined UFC Vegas 18 in February -- suffering a brutal flying-knee knockout defeat against Cory Sandhagen inside just 28-seconds. 

Vera, who is ranked as #13 in the official bantamweight pile, avenged a February 2016 unanimous decision loss to Davey Grant back in June at UFC Vegas 29 -- besting the County Durham native with a unanimous judging success of his own. ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto was first to report the news of Edgar's return against Vera.

1-1 at bantamweight since his move to the division last year, Edgar, a multiple-time featherweight title chaser managed to land in the ranks with a close headlining victory over recent UFC 265 co-headliner, Pedro Munhoz back in August with a close split judging win at UFC Vegas 7.

The veteran 39-year-old New Jersey native and future UFC Hall of Fame inductee has competed under the promotion's banner since February 2007 -- scoring the undisputed lightweight title with a unanimous decision win over B.J. Penn back in April 2010. 

Edgar has lodged notable career triumphs against the likes of the aforenoted, Penn (x3), Jim Miller, Tyson Griffin, Spencer Fisher, Hermes Franca, Sean Sherk, Gray Maynard, Charles Oliveira, Cub Swanson (x2), Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, Jeremy Stephens, and Yair Rodriguez.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Vera, a standout of Team Oyama in Irvine, California has competed 17-times under the promotion's banner since his November 2014 bow. 

The 28-year-old Chone native has himself taken professional victories over the likes of Brad Pickett, Brian Kelleher, Guido Cannetti, Andre Ewell, as well as a UFC 252 knockout victory over Sean O'Malley.

UFC 268 takes place on November 6. from Madison Square Garden in New York City -- with a welterweight title rematch between reigning champion, Kamaru Usman and the #1 ranked former interim gold holder, Colby Covington slated to take headlining status.
