UFC Hall Of Famer Michael Bisping Inks New Four-Year Deal As UFC Colour Commentator

Former UFC middleweight champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Michael 'The Count' Bisping has revealed that he has penned a new four-year deal to serve as a UFC colour commentator -- continuing his role in the promotion's commentary booth. 

Bisping, 42, called time on his professional mixed martial arts career back in May of 2018, following a UFC Fight Night Shanghai knockout loss to former interim title chaser, Kelvin Gastelum back in November of 2017 in a short-notice headlining bout.

In the time since his retirement, Bisping, who hosts his own podcast, Believe You Me alongside comedian, Luis J. Gomez -- has worked as both a desk analyst and has served as a colour commentator in the promotion's commentary booth alongside play-by-play leaders, Jon Anik, Brendan Fitzgerald, and compatriot, John Gooden. 

Posting on his official Twitter account this Friday morning, the fan favourite confirmed he is set to put pen to paper on a new four-year to serve as a colour commentator for the UFC, before thanking promotional president, Dana White.

"Pleased to announce I'm signing a new 4-year contract with the UFC to continue my role as commentator," Bisping tweeted. "Beyond grateful for this role. Big thanks to @danawhite I really am obsessed with this sport and calling fights for the biggest fight promotion in history is a real honor for me."

Ahead of UFC Fight Night London back in March of 2018, it was announced by the promotion that Bisping would be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the Modern Era wing.

Competing 39-times as a professional, Bisping managed to score a 30-9 professional record, competing under the UFC's banner 29-times.

Bisping, the victor of The Ultimate Fighter 3 is also a former Cage Warriors light heavyweight gold holder, and scooped the undisputed UFC middleweight title with an infamous first round knockout victory over two-time foe, Luke Rockhold on short-notice at UFC 199 in June 2016.

Successfully lodging a sole successful title defence, Bisping headlined a UFC 204 card that October in Manchester, England -- avenging a memorable UFC 100 knockout loss against Dan Henderson with a close unanimous decision win. 

Across his storied professional career, Bisping has bested the likes of Eric Schafer, Elvis Sinosic, Matt Hamill, Chris Leben, Dan Miller, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Jorge Rivera, Jason Miller, Brian Stann, Cung Lee, Anderson Silva, as well as the aforenoted, Rockhold and Henderson.
