Brazilian striker Marlon Moraes could really light up the UFC |
One of the most dominant Bantamweights outside of the UFC in the last 3 years, Marlon Moraes is expected to make his promotional debut at UFC 212 in an all Brazilian clash, as he faces top contender Raphael Assunção. Winning the World Series Of Fighting title back in March 2014, Muay Thai expert Moraes continued his dominant control of the 135lbs division, subsequently defending the title an astonishing 5 times, finishing all but one opponent in the process. After WSOF 34, Moraes was stripped of the title after he tested free agency, but now looks to make a surge toward the UFC crown, with fellow Brazilian Assunção expected to offer him the first test on his journey to UFC gold. Expert grappler Assunção, holds notable victories against former champ T.J. Dillashaw, Jorge Masvidal. Joe Lauzon and Aljamain Sterling, and looks to add former champ Marlon Moraes to his W résumé. As well as wins over Carson Beebe and Tyson Nam on his record, 28 year-old Moraes, secured a huge decision victory over former World Extreme Cagefighting champ Miguel Torres. One of the most exciting debuts in recent memory could really shake up the Bantamweight division.
