Stevie Ray earns razor thin decision against Joe Lauzon:

Scot Stevie Ray earns biggest career win to date.
UFC veteran Joe Lauzon faces Scottish contender Stevie Ray at UFC Fight Night Nashville, it what promises to be an exciting Lightwright scrap, both on the feet and the canvas. One of the most respected grapplers in 155lbs history, Lauzon cannot afford to underestimate former BAMMA and Cage Warriors Lightweight king Ray, who is looking to make a seige on the highly competitive UFC Lightweight division.

Dan Miragliotta was the man in the middle for this one, with Lauzon grabbing a single leg followed by a good knee early on. Pure brute strength secured the takedown for Lauzon, who looked to find an early rear-naked choke, before transitioning to full mount, reigning down with some elbows. Some good ground and pound for Lauzon established a huge advantage in the first round, with Ray so far ineffective. Ray was trying his best to defend full mount, and was so far successful, but was still eating shots from half guard. Dominant round for Lauzon.

Lauzon started well in the second continuing his striking clinic this time from the feet, as Ray backed away. Lauzon couldn't follow through with a single leg, as Lauzon looked sloppy all of a sudden, plodding forward with Ray scoring well. Lauzon then managed another takedown. Very little action on the ground in the second, with Ray attempting a frail heel hook, another Lauzon round.

The third and final round began with some decent shots from Ray, who was mixing up some elbows. Lauzon seemed extremely tired after the first round barrage. Some damaging elbows from Ray drew the attention of Miragliotta, before a mistake allowed Lauzon to assume full guard. A phenomenal flurry from Ray with just under a minute left in the round against a faded Lauzon may just have done enough to sway the judges. Youngster Stevie Ray proved to have done enough to earn a majority decision win.
