Lightweight legend Lauzon is searching for a final UFC push: |
UFC Lightweight favourites Joe Lauzon and Stevie Ray face off on the main card of UFC Fight Night Nashville this weekend, as veteran grappler Lauzon, looks to build off a controversial split decision victory over Marcin Held. Scottish star Stevie Ray, was also successful in his most previous bout, picking up a decision over Ross Pearson. A former BAMMA and Cage Warriors Lightweight champ, 27 year-old Ray is currently 4-1 in his UFC career since his transition back in April, 2015, but Lauzon certainly presents the most formidable challenge that Ray has seen so far in his seasoned career. With 18 submission wins to his name, and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Lauzon has forced the tap from Jeremy Stephens, Melvin Guillard, Mike Brown and Jamie Varner to name a few, and is one of the most underrated grapplers in Lightweight history, and with a professional career spanning 39 fights, Lauzon is more expeirenced and in my opinion a more established grappler than Ray, so I'm giving this bout to Lauzon.
Joe Lauzon via submission.
