Will this rematch FINALLY take place? |
UFC President Dana White, told how if former UFC Light Heavyweight king Jon 'Bones' Jones would be available compete at UFC 214 in Anaheim, he would finally rematch Daniel Cormier for the 205lbs title. Jones and Cormier were of course set to finally lock horns for a second time in the main event of UFC 200, but prior to the event Jones was pulled from the card by USADA for a potential anti-doping violation, and was replaced by former Middleweight champ Anderson Silva in a non title bout. Jones is ineligible to compete until after UFC 213, so a 214 date on the 29th of July, would be perfect for a rematch to take place. The question lies, what happens to top contender Jimi Manuwa? The British knockout artist, convincingly stopped Corey Anderson in their main event clash, and traded barbs with 'DC' on Twitter yesterday, with Cormier said to be hugely interested in fighting 'The Posterboy' in his next title defence, so it remains to be seen if Jones accepts White's offer or allows Cormier and Manuwa to first do battle, and face the winner. Exciting times ahead for the Light Heavyweight division.
