What's next for Demetrious Johnson:

The greatest fighter to ever step in the octagon has a huge bout awaiting him regardless:
UFC Fight Night Kansas City, seen main event star Demetrious Johnson defend his Flyweight crown for a record equaling tenth time, as he truely dismantled and dominated #3 ranked contender Wilson Reis. Precise, accurate and patient shots landed on the feet, had 'Mighty Mouse' most certainly ahead on the scorecards, when a good right hand followed by a trip led to Reis on his back. From there, DJ established side control before passing to full mount with ease against the BJJ black belt, before laying down damaging ground and pound from hammerfists and slashing elbows, forcing Wilson to give up his arm, as DJ stepped over and secured a vice like armbar, duelling forcing the tap from Reis as he drew level with former Middleweight champion Anderson Silva for consecutive title defences, and really assert himself as the pound-for-pound greatest fighter to ever step foot in a UFC octagon. So what's next for DJ?

Record breaking title defence: The most obvious and most likely bout for Johnson, would see him hopefully main or co-main event a UFC PPV in order to attempt to break Silva's record. With former foes Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo squared off against Ben Nguyen and Sergio Pettis restively, the winner of either bout presents itself as the next in line to challenge DJ. Many could argue that #4 ranked 125lbs contender Ray Borg has established himself as a rightful challenger after his win over Jussier Formiga, but I believe you could give the youngster a chance to really prove himself against most recent challenger Wilson Reis. 'Mighty Mouse' has of course already twice gotten the better of #1 ranked star Joseph Benavidez, finishing his fellow American in their rematch after securing a decision win. Many believed Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo would finally be the man to stop DJ, but the champ prevailed with expected relaxation and ease, to score a first round knockout via knees and strikes.

Superfight at 135lbs against Cody Garbrandt or T.J. Dillashaw: If DJ can break 'The Spider{s}' record, the next step would be to challenge either current champ Cody 'No Love' Garbrandt or UFC 213 challenger T.J. Dillashaw for the 135lbs crown. DJ has of course already competed at Bantamweight, facing former division champ Dominick Cruz, but was unsuccessful in his surge for the Bantamweight crown. Interestingly 'Mighty Mouse{s}' only other professional defeat occurred at Bantamweight, in his now defunct World Extreme Cagefighting debut, lost to recently retired Brad Pickett. Nevertheless, 135lbs presents maybe the most credible danger to DJ, with Cody's ridiculous power and head movement, and Dillashaw's incredible footwork, octagon awareness and high level wrestling, offering a huge danger to 'Mighty Mouse'. This potential superfight would most certainly offer Johnson the chance to earn that magic one million payday he desires and the least he deserves.
