John Dodson continues Bantamweight stride in uneventful clash:

John Dodson dominates Eddie Wineland in decision win.
Two former UFC title challengers face each other at UFC Fight Night Nashville, as two time Flyweight contender John 'The Magician' Dodson, takes on once Interim Bantamweight challenger Eddie Wineland. Two of the hardest hitters at 135lbs, a top 5 matchup may await the winner. Wineland will of course maintain the reach and height advantage heading into this bout, but speed will certainly be on the side of Dodson.

Herb Dean got us underway in the first round with movement a plenty early on for both men. A good kick to the body landed flush for Dodson, who then slipped a right hook from Wineland. The speed advantage was clear to be seen in the first round, as Dodson bobbed and weaved in and out of Wineland's range. A quick combo was there for Dodson, as so far, Wineland was waiting to pull the trigger. Pretty uneventful first round for both men, with Dodson just landed a shot before the buzzer.

The second began with a good right hand from Dodson, as Wineland had no answer so far. There was a sense of urgency from the impatient crowd, as very little action was on display in the second. A decent body kick followed by a good shot forced Eddie backward in this so far dissatisfying bout. Second round in the books.

The third and final round would most probably force an offensive display from Wineland, who was most likely down on the score card. A good left hook on the exit was on point for Wineland former WEC Bantamweight champ sought the finish. Dodson did well to score a good left hand once more pushing Wineland away. Dodson was so far outlanding Wineland, but no real power shots were there for either contender. Hugely disappointing fight as they go the distance, with Dodson reigning supreme.
