A rescheduled middleweight pairing of undefeated Birmingham native, Fabian 'The Assassin' Edwards, and experienced finisher, Costello 'The Spaniard' van Steenis is booked for a Bellator Milan headliner on September 26th.

Edwards and van Steenis were initially slated to meet at a Bellator London event on March 16th. - until the entire card was cancelled amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

9-0 division prospect, Edwards looks to notch his sixth win under the Bellator banner, following a split decision win over Mike Shipman at Bellator Newcastle in November last. The 27-year-old made his professional debut with Bellator, before a four-fight stint with BAMMA.

For van Steenis, the 12-2 is hoping to rebound to the winner's enclosure, following a unanimous decision loss to the experienced, John Salter at Bellator 233 - also in November last year. Like Edwards, van Steenis scored his most recent professional triumph over the above mentioned, Shipman. Sources close to Ross Markey MMA confirmed the reworked pairing after an initial report by WHOATV.com reporter, Michael Morgan.

In his return to Bellator following a stint with BAMMA - Edwards returned triumphantly with a massive win over veteran challenger, Lee Chadwick at Bellator Newcastle in February last year. Active as always in 2019 - Edwards added both Falco Neto, and Jonathan Bosuku to his aforenoted win over Shipman.

From his above mentioned twelve victories, van Steenis has found the finish on nine separate occasions, notching an eye-catching six submission successes. Prior to his win over Shipman - the Dutchman managed to finish both Steve Skrzat and Kevin Fryer, before a judging win over Chris Honeycutt.
