A flyweight matchup between division prospect, Rachael Ostovich, and Gina 'Danger' Mazany has been added to a UFC Fight Night event on November 28th. - with a location and venue yet to be determined by the promotion.
Hawaiin grappler, Ostovich will make her first Octagon appearance since her UFC Fight Night Brooklyn defeat to recent BKFC signee, Paige '12 Gauge' VanZant in January last year. In January this year, Ostovich tested positive for the banned substances, ostarine, and GW1516 - and was slapped with an eight-month retroactive suspension by USADA for the tainted supplement result.
Recently making her promotional return, Alaska native, Mazany tackled Julia 'Raging Panda' Avila at UFC Fight Night Vegas in May - dropping a first-round knockout on short-notice. News of the 125-pound pairing was initially reported by MMA Junkie reporter, Nolan King.
Ostovich, 29, has so far compiled a 1-2 promotional record since her transition from Invicta FC back in late 2017. The Ultimate Fighter 26 contestant made the quarter-final bracket, following a victory over Melinda Fábián in the preliminary round.
Following her elimination at the hands of Barb Honchack, Ostovich met Karine Gervorgyan on the show's finale - scoring an opening-round armbar victory. Prior to her submission defeat to VanZant, Ostovich suffered a late third-round rear-naked choke loss to Montana De La Rosa.
Following a brief outing under the King Of The Cage banner in a lightweight showing - Mazany made her Octagon return, following a three-fight stint in her premier run with the organization. With a 1-4 promotional résumé, Mazany took home a unanimous judging win over Wu Yanan - sandwiched between losses to former title challenger, Sara McMann, Lina Länsberg, and TUF 28 tournament victor, Macy Chiasson.
