Report: Liana Jojua vs. Miranda Maverick Added to UFC 254 on October 24th.

A flyweight matchup between Georgian submission threat, Liana 'She Wolf' Jojua and promotional newcomer, Miranda 'The Maverick' Maverick is slated for UFC 254 on October 24th. - from Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

In her second appearance on 'Fight Island' this year, submission ace, Jojua last featured opposite Diana Belbiţǎ in July - scoring an opening-round armbar success. With the win, Jojua improved to 1-1 under the promotion's banner.

Invicta FC Phoenix Series 2 flyweight tournament victor, Maverick is set to finally make her Octagon bow, following a shelved pairing with veteran, Mara Romero Borella. The 23-year-old was scheduled to meet the Italian at UFC Fight Night Vegas on June 27th. - but was forced to withdraw due to injury. News of the flyweight pairing was first penned by TASS reporter, Igor Lazorin.

Jojua, 25, finally got off the mark under the UFC's banner in July - following a third-round defeat to Sarah 'Cheesecake' Moras at UFC 242 - also on Yas Island in September of last year.

The defeat to the Canadian marked Jojua's first professional blemish in five outings. With July's submission success against Belbiţǎ - she improved to 8-3 as a professional since her first appearance five years ago.

Surging prospect, Maverick has lit up the 125-pound scene under the Invicta FC banner prior to her transition to the UFC. In recent wins, the 23-year-old upstart managed to pick up a triumph against UFC alum, and upcoming title challenger, Pearl Gonzalez. In a rematch victory over Bellator contender, DeAnna Bennett, Maverick managed a third-round rear-naked choke win. From nine professional outings, Maverick has scored a 7-2 record.
