Report: Omari Akhmedov vs. Marvin Vettori II Scheduled For UFC 256 on December 12th.

A middleweight rematch between Russian grappler, Omari 'Wolverine' Akhmedov, and Marvin 'The Italian Dream' Vettori has been added to UFC 256 on December 12th. - with a location or venue yet to be determined for the event.
Akhmedov and Vettori initially met at UFC 219 in December of 2017 - battling over three-rounds to a majority draw result.
Hoping to return to the win column, Akhmedov last featured at UFC Fight Night Vegas 6 in August, dropping a unanimous decision to former middleweight kingpin, Chris 'The All American' Weidman. The defeat to the Baldwin native marked Akhmedov's first blemish in six outings.
For Vettori, the Trento contender has won three on the trot - most recently finishing Karl Roberson via a first-round rear-naked choke at UFC Fight Night Vegas 2 in June. News of the intriguing re-run was initially reported by MMA Junkie reporters, Nolan King and John Morgan.
A thirteen fight Octagon veteran - Dagestan born contender, Akhmedov has so far lodged an 8-4 (1) promotional record since his first UFC appearance back at UFC Fight Night Goiȃnia in November of 2013.
In notable triumphs under the organization's banner, the 32-year-old has bested the likes of Brian Ebersole, Kyle Noke, Abdul Razak Alhassan, Tim Boetsch, Zak Cummings, and prior to his loss to Weidman - took a unanimous judging win over Ian Heinisch.
27-year-old Kings MMA product, Vettori has found a willing dance partner difficult to come by since his victory over Roberson three months ago. The submission triumph added to a previous run of wins opposite both Andrew Sanchez and Cezar 'Mutante' Ferreira.
After his close majority draw with the above mentioned, Akhmedov - Vettori met with current middleweight titleholder, Israel 'The Last Stylebender' Adesanya at UFC Fight Night Glendale in April of 2018 - dropping a close split decision defeat.
